Jenni Large's BODY BODY COMMODITY
Jenni Large's BODY BODY COMMODITY launched last night as part of the 2023 Theatre North season.
Premiering in Mona Foma in February of next year, Jenni's first major work is a subversive commentary on the impacts of capitalist society and consumerist behaviours on the female body.
Five female dancers animate and interact with a mass of pastel foam objects that litter the performance space, ‘exploiting and embracing their habitat’ as the lines between object, body, power and product blur.

Body Body Commodity represents Tasdance's commitment to not just presenting compelling contemporary dance here in Launceston, but also our dedication to nurturing and supporting Independent makers and producers like Jenni - who has just bought an apartment here in Launnie so we can claim her as one of ours.
