WEDNESDAY

FILM CLIP

with Bernita Moore
7:30–8:15PM*

Get ready for the club with FILM CLIP!

Learn choreography from the hottest new film clips with Bernita at our new fun and inclusive street dance class for adults!

In this class we’ll get moving, break down some skills and learn a routine from a music video, so you can feel like one of Beyoncé’s backup dancers.

No experience necessary, all you need is comfy clothes and a pair of clean sneakers to dance in.

*Film Clip will run on the following dates: 23rd October / 30th October / 6th November.

Shoes: Bring along a pair of sneakers that you will only wear during class. Wearing sneakers that have been worn outside can damage the floor in the studio. Change into your street sneakers once you’re inside the studio, then take them off at the end of class before you go outside.

FriDAY

QIGONG + TAI CHI (FREE)
with Dr Nicholas Beasley
7:00–8:00AM

Dr Nicholas Beasley of @wujimedicine is generously offering free community Qigong and Tai Chi classes at Assembly 197 every Fridayday at 7:00am–8:00am.

Classes will involve a combination of Qigong with some basic Tai Chi forms (movement) for all levels.

QIGONG — The word Qigong is most easily represented as an umbrella term which covers a wide variety of practices and methods such as meditation and spiritual cultivation, healing movements and dance, strengthening exercises, massage and stretching, chanting and religious cultivation.

TAI CHI — Taijiquan (Tai Chi) is a traditional Chinese martial art characterised by relaxed, circular movements that work in concert with breath regulation and the cultivation of a righteous, calm and neutral mind.

Here's how it works:

  • You can bring someone along any week of the year (1 free trial week per friend).

  • They don't have to enrol before class, but by attending they accept that they are dancing at their own risk.

  • If they sign up and purchase a pass on the spot at class, they can purchase the pass for $120 (usually $150).

What to Wear

Something comfortable and easy to move in. If you don’t have ballet shoes for ballet class, bring some socks with you.
