Sophie Gargan
Sophie Gargan is a contemporary dance artist from Taranaki, NZ, and is based in Naarm/Melbourne. Since graduating from NZ School of Dance in 2015 she has broadly expanded her artistic and physical interests, training extensively in Flying Low technique with David Zambrano and completing her yoga teacher training in India. She created and performed her own solo work in Experimental Dance Week Aotearoa (2019) as well as working with Dancenorth for their Tomorrow Makers 2 season in 2019. She most recently performed in “methods for collapse” by Gabriella Imrichova at BLINDSIDE gallery in Naarm this June. Sophie is constantly fascinated by the dancing body and the ever evolving contexts in which it can exist and be a vessel of exploration and discovery.
