MONDAY

DANCE DISCOVERY


4:10 – 5:10PM

Recommended for 5-8 years

A combination of foundational contemporary dance technique, awesome imagery, creative movement and self expression for a fun and well rounded dance experience.
Make sure you have a water bottle handy and get ready to dance, think, play and create.

WEDNESDAY

STREET DISCOVERY


5:10 - 6:10PM

Recommended for 6-8 years

Our Street classes teach a variety of dance styles, including what might be referred to as “Hip Hop”. This includes breaking (breakdancing), locking and popping among others. Students will learn fundamental technical moves, cyphers, choreography, alongside performance skills for battles. Whether it’s learning a few cool moves, gaining fitness, training for solo and crew battles or increasing your movement repertoire, Street has you covered!

Shoes - Bring along a pair of sneakers that you will only wear during class. Wearing sneakers that have been worn outside can damage the floor in the studio. Change into your hip hop sneakers once you’re inside the studio, then taken the off at the end of class before you go outside.

JUNIOR STREET
6:20 - 7:20PM

Recommended for 9-12 years

THURSDAY

CONTEMPORARY JUNIOR


5:15 - 6:30PM

Recommended for 9-14 years

An explorative dance class featuring improvisation, learning through technique, performing contemporary and lyrical dance phrases and getting creative through tasking. Make sure you have a water bottle handy and get ready to find your feet, fascination, freedom and all the feels.

CONTEMPORARY SENIOR


5:15 - 6:30PM

Recommended for 15-18 years

A dance class which incorporates various contemporary styles and techniques including improvisation, floor work and travelling phrases. This also involves co-choreographed sequences to build collaboration, group cohesiveness and to extend performance qualities and skills. A fun class to make friends and enjoy the love of movement.

SATURDAY

GRADE 2 BALLET


10:25 – 11:25AM

This class aims to build on basic ballet principles developing alignment, flexibility and coordination at the barre and in centre exercises. This grade incorporates more complex ballet sequences and develops students’ performance qualities through improvisation.

BALLET GRADE 5


11:35 – 12:35PM

This class aims to build on ballet principles developing strength, flexibility and coordination at the barre and in centre exercises. Technique is more complex and incorporates character work. This grade also teaches basic human anatomy and simple principles of physiology as it relates to ballet technique. Knowledge and understanding is developed alongside skills.

Pointe work is optional in Grade 5. Students will need to have their feet assessed by a physio to ensure their readiness for pointe work.

POINTE
(Grade 5 + Intermediate)


12:35 – 1:05PM

This class is for students also enrolled in Grade 5 or Intermediate Ballet class. This aims to strengthen the feet as well as teach correct alignment for pointe work. Students working towards going on pointe as well as those already on pointe are suitable for this class.

INTERMEDIATE BALLET


1:15 – 2:15PM

Pointe work is now available in the class prior – students will need to have their feet assessed by a physio to ensure their readiness for pointe work.

ADVANCED 1 BALLET


2:25 – 3:40PM

This class is for students who have completed the Intermediate Syllabus of Borovansky or equivalent. Ballet technique is extended through more complex sequences and seeks to develop an understanding of performance quality for stage. This class can be completed with or without pointe work.

We accept Ticket to Play vouchers. More info here!

If you have a valid Ticket to Play voucher, please select the Ticket to Play option when paying for classes. Ticket to Play is a Tasmanian Government initiative designed to reduce the cost of sport and active recreation membership and/or registration for eligible children.

Ticket to Play provides two vouchers worth up to $100 each towards club membership fees for children aged 5–18 years who are listed on a Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card or are in Out of Home Care.

What to Wear

Wear something comfortable and easy to move in.

Long sleeves and long trousers are recommended for Street and Contemporary classes, to protect your skin during floor work.
