A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Sofie has completed her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Dance. Whilst at WAAPA, Sofie was selected to study a semester at the State University of New York, Purchase and perform Ong Yong Lock's Beyond at the Hong Kong Dance Festival. Sofie was a member of LINK Dance Company in 2007 which toured nationally, performing works by Twyla Tharp, Michael Whaites, Claudia Allessi and Nanette Hassall. In 2008 Sofie performed in Alice Lee Holland's Preparing to Be Beautiful, worked with Solon Ulbrich at QL2 for Soft Landing, completed the first stage development of Danielle Micich's upcoming work, Homebase and Lloyd Newson and Boi Sakti's Choreolab for the World Dance Alliance. Sofie received the Steps Youth Dance Company scholarship '08 to travel overseas and take part in the ImpulsTanz festival in Vienna. During 2009 Sofie has choreographed along side Alice Lee Holland for Steps Youth Dance Company's season Moon Webs & Scorched Thongs, participated in the second stage development of Aimee Smith's Accidental Monsters of Meaning and performed in Buzz Dance Theatre's Playhouse season Depth Charge. Identity is Sofie's first season with Tasdance.
