2006 commemorated International Year of desertification and Dry as a Bone was an exploration of this. Although it may seem a dry subject matter it has ironically proven to be a fertile breeding ground for ideas.

Felecia Hick and Emma Porteus began the process by conducting an extensive workshops series throughout Tasmania, followed by auditions in three locations.

The final work explored through movement and imagery, the degradation of land into desert, and how this affects our nation.
